At Mama Africa Book Box, we support young imaginations with words. Our CLC Writing Class inspires creativity and builds confidence. Let your child explore the joy of storytelling with us!
Â
At CLC Kenya, we believe that every child has a unique story to tell, and when guided by Biblical values and the right tools, their words can impact the world for generations to come.
The CLC Writing Class is a 13-week structured program that takes children step-by-step through the process of writing their very own book. Each lesson is designed to be engaging, simple to follow, and infused with Biblical truth.
Children will learn not only how to write creatively but also how to publish and present their work like professional authors.
Each lesson builds upon the last, bringing your child closer to completing a full manuscript.
Let your child’s creativity shine for the glory of God. Enrol today and begin the journey to becoming a published young author!
An exciting start! Children learn that they are writing because God has placed a message in their hearts. We introduce the 10-week roadmap, set expectations, and create a supportive writing environment.
We dive into Jeremiah 29:11 and help each child discover that they are created for a special purpose. This lesson helps them understand their unique identity as writers.
Reading fuels writing! Children explore the impact of books they’ve read and how those stories shape their imagination. They begin reviewing books to develop their creative thinking.
Children learn how God plants inspiring ideas in their hearts through experiences, dreams, and Scripture. They start shaping the core idea of their story.
With gentle guidance, children map out their stories using a simple, step-by-step outline format that makes writing a book manageable and exciting!
Characters come alive! From main heroes to sidekicks and even the “bad guys,” children learn how to create vivid, interesting characters that feel real and relatable—even in memoirs or true stories.
We explore how to describe a story’s setting using all five senses. Children learn how to make their story world come alive and impact their plot.
Time to begin the real writing journey! Children are encouraged to let their words flow without fear of mistakes. We remind them that God is their greatest inspiration and helper.
What if I feel stuck? We provide practical and spiritual tools to help children overcome discouragement and stay motivated. We remind them to pray, play, and keep writing!
Children learn about all the important parts that make up a book:
Children learn how to type their manuscript, edit their own work, and format it for submission. This lesson builds responsibility and attention to detail.
From editing to printing, children discover how publishers turn their manuscript into a real book. We simplify publishing into fun, easy-to-understand steps.
We prepare children to present themselves as confident young authors! They practice public speaking, pitching their book, and designing a mini author profile. We introduce the concept of author branding in fun, creative ways!
On the 14th week, we prepare our young writers to celebrate our their progress in a special graduation ceremony scheduled in October-November each year!
Their manuscripts are ready to move on to the publishing stage with our professional team.
