Move your book from shelf to reader — and from intention to impact
ACABA Annual Author Registration is a structured pathway that activates real readership. Through the Read With Me ecosystem, CLC Kenya will print — or cover the printing*— of books signed up for by readers, ensuring demand is met, books circulate, and authors are actually read. (Because a book that only “exists” is a lovely ornament… but it was born for assignment.)
*upto Kes 250 per book

How it Works
A simple flow that makes the “reader journey” deliberate — not accidental
1. Register your ACABA-submitted title
Your book enters the Read With Me ecosystem for circulation, featuring, and reader mobilisation.
2. Mobilise readers to sign up for your title
Demand becomes visible, measurable, and actionable — not “we hope people notice.”
3. CLC Kenya prints (or covers printing*)
Books signed up for by readers are produced so demand is met and circulation remains healthy (*upto Kes 250 per book)
4. Books circulate and commissions follow
As readers borrow (to return or to own), commissions are earned and authors/hosts are strengthened.
5. Ongoing exposure and engagement
Featuring, social posts, and ‘Meet the Author’ sessions keep your book in conversation — and in hearts.
*Terms & Conditions
We keep terms plain and painless — like good editing, not like surprise fees.
The following terms govern eligibility and participation under this registration category. All conditions are designed to ensure fairness, clarity, and effective execution of the programme.
Book Eligibility
The submitted book must be an ACABA-submitted title from the years 2021 to 2025 and must have attained a minimum evaluation score of 80%. Alternatively, a book that was previously submitted but did not meet the required threshold may be considered only if it has been substantially revised, improved, and formally resubmitted for evaluation. Books published or submitted outside this timeframe may be of high quality; however, they do not fall within the scope of this specific registration bracket and will therefore not be eligible under these terms.Reader Registration Requirement
Each participating author is required to register a minimum of ten (10) readers per featured title. This requirement is intended to ensure immediate readership engagement, measurable circulation, and meaningful participation within the continental reading framework.Event Participation
The author must personally attend the designated continental reading event under which their book is categorised. Attendance forms an essential component of the programme, as it supports author visibility, reader interaction, and the collective objectives of the reading initiative.Printing Support
CLC Kenya shall print the book or cover printing costs of up to Kenya Shillings Two Hundred and Fifty (Kes 250) per copy, subject to programme guidelines and operational capacity. This support is provided to facilitate accessibility, circulation, and timely availability of books to registered readers.
ACABA 2026 offers more than registration — it provides structure, readership, accountability, and reach, allowing your book to fulfil its assignment rather than merely exist.
FAQs
Asked and answered!
Is this “just another registration fee”?
No. This is a structured pathway tied to readership outcomes: printing aligned to real reader sign-ups, circulation,
featured visibility, and engagement sessions — a system designed to move your book into hands, eyes, and conversations.
How does “Kes 230 per copy” work?
Book circulation is priced at Kes 230 per copy (borrowed to return or to own). The key point is that circulation is measurable,
and the author receives 30% commission from each Read With Me book on that amount.
What do you mean by “CLC Kenya will print or cover printing"?
Within the Read With Me ecosystem, when readers sign up for titles, the system activates printing so demand is met.
The intent is simple: no stuck pipeline, no silent shelves.
Why must I register 10 readers for my book?
Because initial traction matters. Ten readers create immediate momentum — early engagement, early feedback,
and proof of readership that can be built upon.
Who benefits besides the author?
It is a shared-value model: Author receives 30%. Hosts receive 30% commission to strengthen grassroots advocacy;
30% supports CLC Kenya operations; and 10% supports the website host. This keeps the ecosystem alive and effective.
