Skip to contentA lively holiday reading convention for children ages 6-11. Participants read, write, discuss books, discover Africa, build confidence and enjoy meaningful creative activities.
The Kids Holiday Reading Conventions are designed to make books exciting, social, practical and memorable. Each day gives young people room to read, think, write, speak, create and grow.
Children enjoy age-friendly books, read-aloud moments, book conversations and simple reading challenges.
Children engage ideas, themes, questions, life lessons and values drawn from books and stories.
Children write, illustrate, review, present and grow confidence as young African storytellers.
A featured book or guest author anchors the day and gives children something meaningful to discuss.
Children enjoy guided reading moments that make books less lonely and more delightful.
Participants learn how to respond to books through simple reviews, presentations and reflections.
Young readers are encouraged to become young writers by turning ideas into stories and creative pieces.
Each day combines reading culture, African discovery, creative response and joyful participation from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Give your child a holiday experience filled with books, creativity, African discovery, expression and confidence-building.
Invite your child to join the Know Mama Africa Written Country Showcase by writing a 500–1,000-word composition celebrating their country, culture, heritage and faith. Selected compositions will become pre-recorded presentations for the MABB Holiday Reading Convention.
